Introduction:
Head Contractors are responsible for ensuring that their own workplace arrangements comply with the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry (the Code) and the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines (the Guidelines). Additionally, head contractors must ensure they only hire subcontractors that have workplace arrangements that comply with the Code and Guidelines. To satisfy this requirement, you must assess your own workplace agreements and/or industrial awards and the agreements of each tenderer (these should be assessed prior to any tender application). This Assess ment Guide has been designed to assist you to assess your workplace agreements as well as those of any subcontractors.
Hopefully this is useful for selecting your subcontractors
