Regret:
- feel regret for doing something = cảm thấy hối hận vì đã làm điều gì.
Ex: I feel regret for having afflicted my father before his death.
- feel no regret = không ân hận gì
Ex: I feel no regret about leaving there.
- regret(n): sự hối hận

- regretful (adj)
Ex: regretful look = ánh mắt ân hận/ nuối tiếc.
“If it is for the country and the people that one has to lay down one’s life, there’s nothing to feel regretful about”. (lay down one’s life = chết/ ngã xuống)
“ Vì nước vì dân thì dù chết cũng không có điều gì ân hận”
Remorse:
- remorseful (adj).
- to feel remorse / compunction = regret = to repent = to feel sory for
Ex: I cheated on my girlfriend and I feel no remorse about it ?
Ex: She kept us waiting without any compunction/without the slightest compunction.

To repent:
- to repent of one’s haste = hối hận vì sự vội vàng của mình.
Ex: I have nothing to repent of.
Ex: Can someone please tell me how to sincerely regret my sins? I have committed a lot of terrible sins, but I feel no remorse for them. I wish I did though, and if it were possible then I would. Can you please tell me how to feel remorse ?
